ESSENTIAL
WITNESSING TOOLS
Acts
1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon
you: and ye shall be
witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria,
and unto the uttermost part of
the earth. KJV
Acts 2:42-47 42 And they continued
stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in
breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul:
and many wonders and signs
were done by the apostles. 44 And all that believed were together, and
had all things common; 45 And
sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every
man had need. 46 And they,
continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from
house to house, did eat their
meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having
favour with all the people.
And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. KJV
Acts 8:1-4 1 And Saul was consenting
unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution
against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered
abroad throughout the regions
of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. 2 And devout men carried
Stephen to his burial, and made
great lamentation over him. 3 As for Saul, he made havock of the
church, entering into every house,
and haling men and women committed them to prison. 4 Therefore they
that were scattered abroad
went every where preaching the word. KJV
Acts 20:19-20 19 Serving the Lord
with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations,
which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: 20 And how I kept
back nothing that was profitable
unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from
house to house, KJV
The Lord Jesus practiced and taught
visitation. You can observe Him in the home of the sick, the
sorrowing and the sinful. He taught visitation when He sent His
disciples and gave them directions
regarding their visitation work. What are these seven results of
visitation?
1. It warms the church member's heart.
2. It shows the interest of the
member in the church. When the member makes time to visit, the
member is strengthened and helped.
3. It solves problems. Sensible, kind
visitation will help solve problems and bring people together
in the spirit of the Lord.
4. It brings souls to Christ. All
church members, especially Sunday School workers, should carefully
study the art of soul winning.
5. It increases the enrollment and
attendance. Classes and the church can grow when visitation is
consistently done. The world's greatest Sunday Schools have been built
through visitation.
6. It makes use of the only tried and
true method for building the church and winning souls.
7. It brings the greatest dividends.
One hour of visitation may result in the salvation of lost souls,
the strengthening of weak Christians, the uniting of a home and the
changing of a score of lives.
I. THE Witnessing TOOL OF OUR . . LIVES.
Our lives must
have some things for them to be used of God.
Luke 19:10 is Jesus' mission
statement of the New Testament
2. THE TOOL OF . . LITERATURE
(1) Tracts can go where preachers may
not be permitted.
(3) A printed message lasts. It can
be read and re-read, copied and passed on.
(4) It can possibly remain for many
years and be the means of teaching generations yet unborn.
(5) Gospel literature does not know a
time limit.
Rom. 10:1 "Brethren, my heart's
desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be
saved."
