Do You Want the Lord's
Abundant Blessing on Your Life
Eph. 1:3
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual
blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, KJV
Introduction
Recently I purchased the new book by Jim Cymbala titled Breakthrough Pray. In the first
chapter pastor Cymbala says there are 4 keys to being a person greatly blessed by God. I am
going to site some of the scriptures he uses and add some from my own though. I do agree with
the basic premise of the book.
Deut 15:18 It shall not seem hard to you when you send him away free from you; for he has been
worth a double hired servant in serving you six years. Then the LORD your God will bless you in
all that you do. NKJV
Ps 109:28 Let them curse, but You bless; When they arise, let them be ashamed, But let Your
servant rejoice. NKJV
Ps 109:28 Then let them curse me if they like-I won't mind that if you are blessing me! For then
all their efforts to destroy me will fail, and I shall go right on rejoicing! TLB
1. Abundant Blessing through the . . Desire to be Blessed.
1 Chron 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me
indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me
from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested. NKJV
John 4:10 Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says
to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living
water."
Matt 7:7-11 7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who
knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will
give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being
evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in
heaven give good things to those who ask Him! NKJV
James 4:2b-3 2b Yet you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive,
because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. NKJV
2. Abundant Blessing through the . . Reading, Mediating on, and Following God's Word.
Rev 1:1-3 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all
things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and
keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. NKJV
3. Abundant Blessing through the . . Righteous Obedience through Faith.
Ps 1:1-3 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path
of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And
in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does
shall prosper. NKJV
Ps 112:1-2 Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who delights greatly in
His commandments. 2 His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright
will be blessed. NKJV
Ps 84:11-12 11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No
good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. 12 O LORD of hosts, Blessed is
the man who trusts in You! NKJV
4. Abundant Blessing through . . Generous Giving.
Deut 14:28-29 28 "At the end of every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce of
that year and store it up within your gates. 29 And the Levite, because he has no portion nor
inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your
gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work
of your hand which you do. NKJV
Acts 20:35 I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak.
And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' " NKJV
Luke 6:38 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." NKJV
2 Cor 9:6-8 6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows
bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not
grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace
abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance
for every good work. NKJV
Phil 4:17-20 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. 18
Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from
you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 And my God shall
supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and
Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. NKJV
Mal 3:10
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now
in this," Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out
for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. NKJV
