A Bolivar Missouri School Student just 130 miles away was arrested for having bullets with teachers names on them.

While on an elevator in a Springfield hospital I met a Police Officer. His badge said Springfield Schools.
I ask "do you have a police officer at each school?" He said "No but I wished we did." I then said "a policeman in our town told me it is just a matter of time before someone shoots some one at our school." This police officer said "I believe it, I will not be surprised if it happens in Springfield."

Question Six: How to Look At These Events.

1 Cor 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known.

A.    Look wit an Eternal Perspective.

This is a brief excerpt that appeared in the Journal Sentinel - a very liberal newspaper in the Denver area.

"Maybe John Tomlin's death will save a soul, and maybe more than one. The stirring spirit of John's life, so brutally punctuated by his death at Columbine High School, led his friend Brandon Sokol to announce Friday his conversion to Christ. Brandon spoke through tears at John's memorial service, the first for the victims of Tuesday's massacre.

More conversions may follow, said Tomlin's girlfriend, Michelle Oetter, a 17-year-old who seems guided through this tragedy by uncommon grace and perception.

Michelle Oetter, HIS GIRL FRIEND SAID "I don't know why John died . . . but God knows what he is doing,'. If this many people are going to find out what kind of person John was and the faith he had -- it changed Brandon's life -- I don't have to ask why.'"

Conclusion Keep Weeding

George Paton was a missionary to the cannibals in the New Herbides Islands. He began his ministry in 1858 and stayed for over thirty years. His wife died in childbirth a year after arriving on the field. Paton had many close encounters with death told in his autobiography, THIRTY YEARS WITH SOUTH SEA CANNIBALS.

One time, "Paton was weeding his garden when a cannibal aimed a musket on him. Paton knew that the cannibal had trained the weapon on him but kept going down the row weeding. The cannibal kept following him. For some reason, the cannibal chose not to fire. Later someone asked, 'How could you do that?'

Paton replied, 'You know, if my life is over, it's over. And if it's not, I better weed the garden.' God would not allow that cannibal to shoot Paton unless it was His time, and if it wasn't God's time, Paton had things to do."    from RECLAIMING SURRENDERED GROUND, by Jim Logan, p. 160
