The Laws of the Harvest.

Gal. 6:6-10

NKJV

6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. NKJV

NAS

6 And let the one who is taught the word share all good things with him who teaches. 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life.

9 And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.

10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. (NAS)

Introduction

Some way New Year Resolutions get set aside. One person stated their resolutions for the past several years.

1) I am going to have a balanced diet. A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand.

2) I am going to cut down on stress but If it weren’t for STRESS I’d have no energy at all.

3) Whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed.

4) Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

5) Junk is something you’ve kept for years and throw away three weeks before you need it.

6) If you look like your passport picture, you probably need the trip.

7) Once your over the hill you pick up speed.

But Here Is Some All Too Real Resolutions

1999: I will get my weight down below 180.

2000: I will watch my calories until I get below 190.

2001: I will follow my new diet religiously until I get below 200.

2002: I will try to develop a realistic attitude about my weight.

2003: I will work out 5 days a week.

2004: I will work out 3 days a week.

2005: I will try to drive past a gym at least once a week.

2006: I will start all over again

A Christian who was born and raised in a log house visited his boyhood home after being away for 35 years. As he walked up to the now-deserted cabin, he remembered that as a youngster he had planted some walnuts along a stream that ran through the farm. When he went down to the creek, he discovered a beautiful row of stately walnut trees.

Then he recalled that he had also hidden some nuts in the attic. He was curious to see what had happened to them, so he climbed into the dark attic and poked around in a corner until he found them. What a difference! Those he had stored were nothing but dry and dust-covered nuts, while the ones he had planted had become flourishing green trees!

To illustrate further look at your Credit Card. The abuse of the plastic is easy to figure. We can purchase tens, hundreds and thousands of dollars in items without laying down one nickel. It tends to sow the idea we don't have to pay anything. It's like my boys asking me after using the credit card, "Dad do you have to pay for that?" My reply, "Well not today."

Eve sold a paradise home for a bite of fruit.

Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of beans.

King Saul Lost his kingdom for some forbidden spoils of war.

The so-called "rich fool" sold his soul for a new storage warehouse full of possessions he soon lost.

C.        We Can Sow . . Spiritually. v 8 b

“. . .but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
