THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT MOTIVATE

ROMANS 12:6-12

C:\JIMMc2008\Rom12-3TAB.SER.wpd

NKJV 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; NKJV

NAS {6} And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, <let each exercise them accordingly>: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; {7} if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; {8} or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. {9} Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. {10} Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; 11} not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; {12} rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, NAS

Introduction:

I Believe There Are Three Categories of Spiritual Gifts.

Motivations                        Ministries                   Manifestations

Charismation                             Diakonion                          Energamaton

1 COR. 12:4                              1 COR. 12:5                       1 COR. 12:6

ROM. 12:3-9                             1 COR 12:27-31                1 COR. 12:7-11

1 Corinthians 12:4 - 7 4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. 6 And there are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all <persons>. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
