20 'Behold, I stand at the door and
knock; if anyone hears My voice and
opens the door, I will come in to him, and
will dine with him, and he with Me.

INTRODUCTION
I have never preached through an interpreter before. I think the sermon will take twice as long because the words will be spoken twice.
In preparation I have attempted to shorten the message but I will not promise
anything.
I am delighted to have the privilege to share with you the message of Jesus.
Since this is the first of these services I am going to try to by both simple and
foundational. I ask you to pray for both of us who share tonight and all who
share Jesus in the weeks that follow.

A. It is imperative to look at Jesus . . Character.
1. The Character from Birth.
Isa 7:14 14 "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.
Luke 1:34 - 35
34 And Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?"
35 And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of
the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of
God.
2. The Character from 33 years of sinless life.
Heb 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One
who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
B. It is imperative to look at Jesus . . Commitment.
1. Opportunity of Jesus' Commitment. John 6:38
38 "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
2. Obedience of Jesus' Commitment. Phil 2:8
8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the
point of death, even death on a cross.
C. Commission of Jesus.
Matt 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven
and on earth.
19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
the Son and the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the
end of the age."
2. Beholding Jesus an . . Invitation.

If the door is opened it must be opened from the inside.
The text says 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and
opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me.
Have you Beheld Jesus Tonight? Each one of us must open the door to our life and
ask Jesus to come in. He promises to come into your life if you open the door.
We will stand and sing a hymn. We invite you to walk forward and by doing so you will
be saying you want to invite Jesus into your life tonight.
